Answer:

Sometimes I wonder that myself honestly … 3.0gpa, 1850 SAT, 29 ACT, involvement with bowling one year and various music stuff that wasn’t quite Extra Curricular. I think my essay helped me a lot, especially since I was applying to the writing program! Most people I know had at least 3.4gpa’s with similar if not higher SATs and more extra curricular stuff. What program you’re applying to makes a difference, too - stuff in the Park school is more selective, and obviously the music school depends heavily on auditions. If you’re planning on applying to the Park school don’t forget that you can get accepted to IC but not the Park school, go in as exploratory, and reapply to the Park school after a semester. A lot of students do this, one of my friends did, and successfully got into the Film program after his first semester! Good luck :)
